i absolutely LOVE bright green grass.  and since we figured out how to work our sprinkler system, plus it's been raining off and on, the grass is VERY green.  and tall.  and these little white mushrooms keep popping up in this same spot.  karsyn likes to squish them.  mykah likes to kick them.  and if jaxton were on the ground, he'd probably eat them.

mushrooms or not, we're loving our backyard.  we can walk anywhere and everywhere without shoes and the grass feels almost padded under our feet.  it's heavenly.

here's another work in progress.  trying to figure out what exactly i'm going for here.  i'm loving the colors.  yellow and aqua can now be found in several places in my house.  i wanted the top of these shelves to be filled with globes of all different sizes and colors.  i have 2.  so until i can find more, i improvised with frames and birdhouses.  random.  but i'm liking it.  it fills the space nicely.  now to get the nails out of the wall, fill holes, and touch up paint.  making a house your own home is hard work!

i need to post pictures of our new house.  it's been a slow process.  we moved in.  then it was the last week of school and all that entails.  then we went on vacation.  now we're unpacking from vacation.  david's mom is in the hospital.  and we're trying to catch up with life.  i've decorated here and there.  it's a different style of house from what we had before, so i'm trying to see how it's all going to come together.  one of the first things i had to do was to find a spot for my chalkboard.  there's no walls above my dining table now, so i had to find the perfect spot.  this little wall is between the living and dining rooms and i am loving how this spot has turned out so far.  maybe one day that dresser will get a makeover.

this little guy loves to be outside.  and he also loves to be held.  and what a great reminder of being outside at home than a view of the water tower in the background.  soon this will not be home, but it'll always be considered home because all 3 of our kids were born here.  they all were babies here.  had cribs here.  grew here.  and that water tower is a wonderful landmark that reminds us of home.

signs of life at our house.  yep.  just 2 weeks ago (i think) we put our house on the market again.  what a tough decision this was.  we prayed lots of days.  we've been unsure of lots of things and have made some dumb decisions before.  this time, we wanted to make sure.  we know we're ready to be out of this house.  it's old.  and we want newer for our family.  and we just felt it was time.

although nervous, we quickly recalled that just a few years ago we had our house on the market for a year and it never sold.  we had that on our mind.  so we put it on early thinking that MAYBE by summer we'd have an offer.  it was a week and a half this time.  and we praise God.

now we pray for our new home.  and for the new people who will hopefully enjoy this one as much as we did.

i just love my pantry.  it's ALMOST how i want it.  i really want to label everything, but i still need to decide how i want to do that.  it's always a work in progress.

here's my dining room chalkboard right now.  it's my motto at this time of my life.  our life.  our home.  i'm trying to keep it simple.  i've always been a "less is more" kind of person, but had way too much clutter hiding in places.  i'm working on that and trying to have as little as possible around the house.  it's hard to do, but very much possible.

this is currently my favorite part of our home ...

picture the chairs white and it'll be perfect.  i'm at it again trying to make our house the perfect home for us.  i'm focusing on dwelling in this space and making it just what i want it to be.  our living room is small and we are saving up money to buy a new couch, so we are pretty short seating.  good thing we seldom have people over.  i needed something on this wall, but nothing too wide or long.  it had to fit perfectly because to the right of it is the hallway and to the left is an opening into our kitchen and dining room.  right now, i love all things white, so it's perfect and i love it.

this is how i know i'm home ...

that's what you see when you look at the front of our house.  the other side of our backyard fence is home to the city water tower and we love to look up at it.  it's really big when you're standing close to the bottom, staring straight up at the sky above it.  and it simply reminds us that we're home.  we just pray it never springs a leak!
