Day 58
I never post pictures of myself! Ever ever. This day was finally sunny outside and I can't even remember when I last wore sunglasses. You see, I realized a few months ago that I couldn't see. Like, I can see, but pretty much everything is blurry. My brilliant husband said "maybe you should try wearing your glasses." Yep, I have had glasses for a while and never wear them. I didn't think I needed them, but my vision has gotten much worse in the last year. I think pregnancy does that to you! So, the glasses are plastered to my face all day, everyday. And I hate it. I have tried contacts and I just can't seem to be okay with sticking my finger in my eye, however, after wearing glasses for a few months, I think I can give contacts a try again. I'll be going to the eye doctor very soon.
This sunny day was a day that I had been done with my glasses. I needed to sport my shades! And I went all day not being able to see AND driving. I'm a smart girl, huh. Thankfully, I was able to realize that no one was safe, so I put the glasses back on. You're welcome.

Day 57
I sent this picture to the BFF and it made me realize a few things ...
1. I hate Texas weather. That day I was outside in shorts & flip flops and yesterday we were bundled in hoodies and gloves. Today, it's raining and tomorrow is supposed to be warm again. So dumb.
2. I should probably start doing squats.
3. I should spend more time outside. Those are some WHITE legs. Actually, I've finally decided that it's okay to have no color on my legs. I spent years tanning or letting myself get sunburned, that my skin is paying for it now. It took until I was 32 though. The sun is so damaging and, although I have always known that, I just wanted a nice tan. It's so not worth it now. I'll be the girl in the shade, extra white from sunscreen, and a big ol' hat on at the pool this summer. And so will my kids.
4. I have a pretty lame life to be texting pictures of my legs and feet to the BFF.

We're Oily
Our family has been in a transition phase for a while now. After losing a parent to poor health and cancer and another almost gone to diabetes and poor health, our own health has hit the top of the charts. We're doing what we can to get us all in optimal health. It's a struggle. We're not perfect and we do have our days (sometimes lots of days) where our eating isn't where we should. I think food will always be a struggle for us.
I'm not one to completely cut out things that cause cancer or that cause heart disease, etc. First of all, the things that cause cancer and disease seems to change daily now. Last week coffee was healthy and today it causes cancer. I simply can't keep up with it, so I don't. I just knew that I was giving my children medicine for every single ailment. If they were unusually fussy, they must need tylenol. If they were snotty, they must need benedryl. If they sneezed, they must need allergy meds. It was daily. It was constant. Our medicine cabinet(S) were overflowing. Yes, we had 2. We've had our share of health concerns the past few years with all of us and I was just over it.
I had a few friends start talking about using essential oils. Everyone I talked to loved them, so I dove in head first. What could be better than oils that were spoke of in the Bible? Seriously. I believe Frankincense oil is mentioned something like 52 times in the Bible. And I can buy it and use it for my health. That's just awesome!
I can honestly tell you that we have been using Young Living Essential Oils for a month now and, other than 1 medicine that I'm on for other health reasons, we have not taken any OTC or prescription medicines in that time. We are strictly using essential oils and they have made a huge difference in our lives. What a blessing!
You will hear more about them as time goes on because they are now an addiction. We use them for everything! The diffuser picture below is my new best friend. We have 2 now in our home. It diffuses essential oils and it's the best thing ever. Diffusing Thieves oil kills airborne bacteria. You can't beat that! It's been a lifesaver.
