Just out of the mouth of Mykah ..

M : I don't want a maid of honor when I get married.
Me : (wondering where the heck that came from & trying not to laugh) Why?
M: Because I don't want no one to take my dress.

Seriously.  I can't make this stuff up.

The things she says ...

Mykah is a HOOT!  She constantly keeps us laughing and wondering all at the same time.  I wanted to share a few things she said just yesterday, mainly for me to remember, but also for you to enjoy.

M: There's a kid named Xavior in my class.
Me: That's a cool name.  Is he nice?
M: I do NOT like that name.
Me: Why?
M:  Because Jesus is the only Xavior.

M: Today I'm going to tell my teacher that I'm an Indian and she'll say "ATTENTION: We have an Indian in the class!"  (This led to unending giggles)

M: The class gets to vote on who gets to take Blueberry home at the end of the week.
Me: (knowing some classes do have pets) Hold up.  Who is Blueberry?
M: Our class dog.
(silence)
M: Don't worry, he's not real.  But our class gets to vote on Friday for who gets to bring him home.  And he likes to eat blueberry muffins.  Jayden said he's going to vote for me.  I want the whole class to vote for me.
Me: Well, some people might not vote for you and that's okay.  You do have to make sure you're being everyone's friend, being nice to everyone, and helping them if they need help.
M: Whew, I have a few days.

Y'all.  I wish you were all here when she says these things.  They are FAR funnier in person.  I'm so so so thankful God gave us a child with this sense of humor.  Karsyn is quite the character herself, but she's a little more serious and doesn't like people to laugh at her.  Jaxton seems to be a mix.  We shall see. 

words to remember

mykah just called jaxton a "little naked nomad".  she also calls david "old man jones".  and recently called jaxton a "white indian".

karsyn said to mykah "i'm sorry to tell you this, but you were born brown."  then "i'm sorry to tell you this, but me and jaxton are white and you are brown."

we are not lacking in entertainment around here.

i am going to start recording more of mykah's words.  that girl is hysterical.  and you wouldn't believe half of what she says.
tonight it was this ...

"karsyn is the princess of butterflies (she had butterfly pj's on) and i'm the queen of chaos."
truer words have never been spoken.

she always says "seriously?"

the other day, on the way to school, karsyn sneezed probably 5 times in a row and mykah said "stop being so dramatic, karsyn."

and one of my favorites last week was "hallelula it's cold out here." 

she is a VERY dramatic kid, but the stuff she says is beyond funny.  i absolutely love it.

oh, but she did start saying "elevator" correctly a few weekends ago.  we were at my great-great-great-great aunt's 97th birthday party and it was in a hotel that had a really cool glass elevator.  and mykah said "i want to ride the elevator."  i. was. sad.  she has called it an "alligator" for the longest time.  so i said "you mean the alligator?"  and she got the craziest look on her face and said "it's called an elevator."  i hate when they grow up!!!

the girls were coloring on the same sheet together and mykah got mad.  karsyn said "she's not letting me color."  and mykah said "YOU AREN'T COLORING IN THE LINES!"

karsyn is a scribbler.  mykah is a perfectionist.  obviously the two don't need to be coloring the same sheet together again.

on the long list of my favorite things about kids, is the little words they say.  sometimes they make them up, sometimes they try hard to say it the right way, but it's always their way.  and it's so darn cute.  here are some of my favorites that my kids say ...

*yestertime = yesterday.
*basketti = spaghetti.
*fry fries = french fries.  both of my girls have always said this.
*banilla bars = granola bars.
*brefast = breakfast.
*breeving = bleeding.
*alligator = elevator.
*verections = directions.

mykah:  how is the doctor going to get baby jaxton out?  (THE dreaded question.)
me:  (not knowing how to respond) well, how do you think he will get him out?
mykah:  (without hesitation AT ALL)   he will probably cut off your big toe, go up through your leg, pull the baby out past your hiney, through your leg again and out your toe.
me: (trying not to laugh)  yep, that sounds like a great idea.

yesterday mykah took a nap, which meant she was still awake at 9:30 last night.  in bed, but awake.  she called me and when i went in there to see what she needed she had the saddest look on her face and said "my foot hurts."  i told her that i was sorry, kissed the top of her foot, and told her to go to sleep.  she said again, "my foot hurts.  'cause i've been eating a lot."  i almost lost it.  that girl is so stinkin' funny!

mykah is seriously out of control.  this girl is like crazy funny.  hysterical.  tonight, as we were leaving the cupcake place, she turned around in the doorway and yelled "are you guys ready for some action?!"

also, today she's been calling us "people".  for instance, "hey people."  or "come on people, let's go!"  one time it was "hey girl, can i have some juice?" 

yesterday, she was trying to take her pants off, but still had her shoes on and i was trying to tell her that she needed to take her shoes off first.  she said "give me a chance, mom.  this is not my first ride."  seriously?!?!? 

i can't make this stuff up folks.

*(1/2/12)  karsyn was playing "restaurant", as she called it, and had mykah and bryson sitting down at the table.  she brought them a piece of paper and said "what would you like today?  prancer, vixen, donner, or blitzen?"  my first thought was that santa must not have brought her what she wanted and she was taking it out on the reindeer!!

*(1/4/12) mykah has an attitude. we've established that. i was talking to her in her room about being nice to others and not making ugly faces when we get angry. she said "but mama, i tell you i love you every day!"

*(1/8/12) after church we went to C&J's for lunch.  we sat down, got all settled, plates fixed, drinks made and we bowed our heads to pray.  the girls belted out LOUD the prayer we say at home with all the other kids.  they sang "God our Father, God our Father, once again, once again.  We bow our heads and thank You, bow our heads and thank You.  Amen.  Amen."  loud.  i snickered, but tried to keep my composure.  typically we would say a quiet prayer where just the 4 of us could hear.  the entire restaurant was quiet and heard.  they all snickered and we got a few that commented how cute they were.

*(1/8/12) mykah still sucks her thumb.  a lot.  but we've told her for a while now that when she turns three, she can't suck it anymore.  today she said "only two more days till i can't suck my thumb no more."  we'll see if it goes that well tomorrow.

mykah has been so sassy lately and so full of attitude that i don't even know what's going on!!  she's been absolutely crazy.  i guess terrible two's have come, just a little late.  which i have been thankful for, but now i'm wondering how long it will last.  she really is a good kid, just has a smarty pants attitude and also packs a punch.  don't stand in her way!

so, yesterday, i had asked her to do something and she started talking back and arguing.  i told her "you don't wanna argue with me, girl."  i guess i was being a little feisty too, huh?!  she said right back, "yes.  mommy.  i do."  and she paused for a second and said "girl."  it was so hard not to laugh, but immediately she stuck those hands on her hips, turned and said "i'm stomping away now."  hysterical, but OH MY!  the attitude!!!!

my most favorite favorite favorite thing right now is when we are talking about jasey (the BFF) and her baby who is due in november ... mykah says "baby elephant?"  her name is elliott, but mykah has a hard time remembering that, so she calls her "jasey's baby elephant."  so. stinking. cute.  reminds me of a few months ago when she called a friend's kid, whose name is rhyder, "screwdriver."  cracked me up everytime.  that girl is a HOOT!

tonight, on our way to gymnastics, the girls were chatting away in the back seat.  i swear the conversation never stops!  karsyn said "mykah, before you get married, you can do one of these things."  i had NO idea where she was going with this!!!  she said "you can take pictures.  you can lay on the porch and take pictures.  or ... climb a tree.  before you get married you need to do that."

i could not make this stuff up.

i love how kids have their own words.  and mine could rewrite the dictionary with some of the stuff they come up with.  it doesn't matter how many times they are corrected, they still say it how they think.  and, i admit, it's cute.

"it's fleece was shock a go."  karsyn REFUSES to correct her words to mary had a little lamb.  and no matter how many times i sing it or say "it says it's fleece was WHIIIITE AS SNOOOOW" she still says it her way.  "it's fleece was shock a go."

"i may never march in the infantry, ride in the calorie, shoot the itenery ..."  i NEVER correct that one because i love it so.  for those who doesn't know that song, it goes "i may never march in the infantry, ride in the calvary, shoot the artillery."

of course i planned a long, cute post because of the so many things my children say, and now i cannot think of any more.  seriously?  i'll add to it as i think of them.

. non-stop entertainment .

this may sound weird, but i always said that i wanted funny children.  do all people think their children are funny though?  some kids are quiet.  seemingly boring.  i guess most little ones act different at home with their parents than they do around others.  my girls are the same way, but i always wanted our children to be riots at home.  keeping us laughing and never knowing what to expect next.  boy did we ever get what we wanted.

they are constantly making faces.  mad.  happy.  sad.  excited.  you name it, we've looked it.  i'm not real sure what those faces are in the pictures above, but cheesy would probably describe it best. 

this one is probably my favorite ...

she fit that one, huh?  that was obviously her scared face.  you'd think a monster was headed over the back of that seat to get her.  she played it well.

and, the classic mykah face ...

we already know that we have our hands full now, and they will be overflowing as she gets older.  but i wouldn't have it any other way.  here's her latest ...

they went to fun days at church last thursday and learned about jonah in the belly of the whale.  when she came home, she told me the story as she learned it.  the next day, i asked her to tell nana and papa about jonah.  apparently she had enough time to think about it and make it her own.  she said, without hesitation ... "jonah was in the whale.  and the whale pooped."  and laughed hysterically. 

seriously.  i cannot make this stuff up people.

the girls having us constantly laughing, which is exactly what i wanted our house to be filled with.  here are today's conversations ..

{background ... just the other day, mykah did not want me to fix her hair.  now, her hair is outta control and usually i'm left not really knowing what to do with it.  everyday, i try to at least pull the front out of her eyes somehow and the other day she REFUSED to let me put her hair up.  screamed.  loud.  for several minutes with both hands on her head.  so, i loaded her up in the car and said we were going to get a haircut.  she didn't want her hair fixed, so let's chop it off.  she HATED that idea too.  finally, after i buckled her in and started the car, she agreed to let me fix it.}

fastforward to this morning ...
mykah:  "mommy, please fix my hair.  it's too crazy."
me:  "seriously?" 

also this morning ..
karsyn:  "mommy, i'm almost as tall as you!"
me:  "i know.  can you please stop growing?"
karsyn:  "no, Jesus wants me to grow big."
me:  "well, i might have to talk to Him about that."
karsyn:  "go ahead.  talk to Him.  see what He says."

notice there are more and more post like this these days?  that's cause my girls are CRAZY and i can already tell karsyn and i are going to have an interesting relationship as she grows up.  we are very similar and both think we are the queen of the house.  i'm trying to work around this to prevent disagreements, but sometimes they just arise.  here's how it went down today ...

karsyn has pretty much insisted that she is going to have a puppy.  and she tells everyone it is a black puppy named penny, but the size of said puppy varies from big to small.  this afternoon, we were sitting in the car in the parking lot waiting for daddy to get in and start the car and i noticed a black dog in the back of a truck.  i showed it to her and she refused to look at it.  me, in the grouchy mood i was in, said "well, maybe you WON'T get a dog one day since you aren't being very nice today."  she said "you just wait.  you'll see."  oh, that girl.  she's a handful!!

the girls are in the living room eating dinner at the coffee table because it's friday and i don't care.  sweet baby walks in the kitchen and says "karsyn's looking at me."

karsyn and i were just scanning through pictures from the royal wedding this morning.  we came up on a picture of horses leading the way to westminster abbey.  she said "ah.  is this an aggie wedding?!?"
