. 1 week old .

i can hardly believe he's already a week old.  and i can still hardly believe he's so tiny.  and i can still hardly believe he's a he.  so, at 1 week, he ...

*weighs 6 lbs 6 oz
*is about 19 1/2 inches already!
*sleeps a lot, which mama is enjoying while it lasts
*is EXTREMELY laid back.  he never cries, which mama is also enjoying while it lasts.
*still struggles with jaundice.  last night it measured 12.2.  he needs daily sun baths!
*likes his paci.  (more on that later)
*sleeps in his crib.  i sleep on a twin bed in his room for now.
*when he left the hospital, he was eating 1oz of formula every 3 hours.  he's up to 2oz every 4 hours.
*sleeps great at night already.  we make sure he wakes up to eat every 4 hours.
*is on the perfect (for me) schedule.  he eats at 10:00, 2:00, and 6:00 around the clock and on the dot.  that schedule fits our life and our schedule perfectly right now.
*had to go back to the doctor last night because i was concerned about his breathing.  little man likes to hold his breath and make his nose and mouth turn blue.  scares mama!  i have to blow in his face to make him gasp to breathe again.  and apparently this is "normal premie behavior."  
*has dark eyes!  we thought they were blue in the hospital, but now i'm not so sure.  they're almost black.
*is still perfect in every way.
