. easter 09 .

easter with 2 girls.  we HAD to have matching dresses.  so stinking cute.  we spent the weekend in san antonio with my family and david's mom joined us too.  it was the first time for some of my family to meet little mykah, so she was passed around like a hot potato.  karsyn was a pro at egg hunting.  she looked like she had done it a million times before.  the secret was that mamma wanted all the good candy, so i had to teach her a few tricks of the trade. 

nana was the brave one and colored eggs with karsyn.  i didn't want MY house to be multi-colored.  does that make me a bad mom?  eh.  she had fun and that's all that  matters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

. 3 months .

at 3 months mykah ...
is "talking" tons.  and it is quite adorable ... all her squeals and squeaks are my fave.
is loving her hands.  particularly when they are in her mouth. 
is grabbing toys and loves to have a "puppy paci" in the carseat with her ...
prefers you to stand up and walk around with her when she gets a bit fussy.  don't even thing about sitting.  seriously.
had her first real smile.  and it was at momma.  apparently momma is funny.
drinks a 4 ounce bottle, 5 times a day...
is still very much opposed the whole concept of "tummy time"...
is sleeping 12 hour stretches at night.  although she did only go 7 hours last night.
enjoys the silly songs we sing.  she smiles every time.
loves being propped up and looking around... there is so much to see ... especially when karsyn is in the room.
and LOVES her daddy.  he gets her to sleep every night. 

. bedtime baby .

i love the part where you get so calm in the warm tub water.  your hooded towels are sweet, striped footed pajames are the best and tiny bunny slippers are too cute for words.  playing together the last few moments before bedtime is priceless.  you look at me with those bright eyes and smile like there is no tomorrow just before you drift off to dream.

i love that this is our routine.

my two sweet babies are sleeping, snug in their beds, and it melts my heart to think about what a blessing they both are to me.  i don't thank God near enough for them.  my prayers go out to a family who i read about on their blog who lost their sweet baby at 11 months old due to a congential heart defect.  she fought.  she fought hard.  and as they told their stories of their other three children all telling her "goodnight gracie" for the last time, i cried.  i forgot to tell karsyn "goodnight".  we rushed.  it was 9pm.  she was grouchy and i simply wanted her in bed. 

another blog i found (i will have to stop looking for new blogs to stalk), lost their sweet baby boy at 8 months.  he simply didn't wake up.  every night, mykah drinks her last bottle of the day and goes to sleep.  then we don't see her bright eyes until morning.  praise God she sleeps through the night already.  but his parents didn't get to see his bright eyes again.  and i didn't tell mykah "goodnight" either. 

so now, before i crawl into bed myself, i will take the chance of waking both of them up just to tell them "goodnight".  and probably some "i love you" too.  because you just never know.

since i haven't posted in over a week, i thought i'd give you this to make you smile while i think of something to blog about.  not that my life is even close to boring.  poor mykah.  she always looks so afraid in pictures with karsyn.  can you even imagine the thoughts?
